The Archiefschool has been training Dutch archivists since 1919. Since 2009, January is the Archiefschool part of the Hogeschool van Amsterdam, University of Applied Science.

The lecturers-researchers provide academic education at the Universiteit van Amsterdam, professional education at het Hogeschool van Amsterdam, University of Applied Science and offer Continuing Professional Development Courses.

The Hogeschool van Amsterdam/Archiefschool continues the activities within the International Council on Archives.
